Multiva Crossline – A Solution That Brings Efficiency and Reliability to Cultivation

Crossline offers the highest cultivation intensity on the market, combined with excellent leveling and penetration capacity.

Multiva Crossline s-tine harrows are designed for seedbed preparation on cultivated soils, particularly suited for heavier soil types and demanding conditions for high value crops such as sugarbeets etc. The Crossline range covers working widths from 6 meters up to 14.5 meters. In this article, we take a closer look at the harrow’s features, explain the concrete benefits it offers farmers, and share insights from a farmer who has used Crossline for several seasons.

Outstanding Cultivation Results

A uniform seedbed and the right soil particle distribution are critical for rapid and even germination. Crossline stands out thanks to its nine tine axles and TerraFlex tines, creating an optimal growing environment for all crops. Its high cultivation efficiency often means a perfect seedbed can be achieved in just one pass. This performance is the result of several carefully engineered factors.

The TerraFlex tine used in the Multiva CrossLine s-tine cultivators has been carefully developed and tested. The position of the tine point vertically close to the center of torsion of the tine and the geometry that withholds the cultivation angle of the tine point together with the sturdy structure of the tine, ensure that the TerraFlex tine has an excellent ability to keep it’s preset working depth even in very demanding conditions.

The vibration and crumbling capacity of TerraFlex tines are exceptional. They break down soil effectively across a wide speed range, ensuring thorough cultivation regardless of conditions. Their robust design excellent durability equals a long service life.

Crossline’s nine tine axles and long frame enhance soil processing, as particles remain exposed to crumbling for longer. Despite the dense 65 mm tine spacing, the frame design ensures excellent clog-free operation. Combined with depth-retaining tines, this results in a smooth, well-crumbled seedbed. The long frame and efficient front and rear leveling boards deliver superior leveling performance, producing impressive results in just one pass.

Heavy-Duty Construction – An Investment for the Future

Like all Multiva products, Crossline harrows are built from high-quality SSAB Nordic steel. The frame is based on an extra-strong triple-beam design, complemented by robust wheel bearings and boggie solutions. Large bearings with strong sealings ensure a long service life, even after thousands of hectares of cultivation and hundreds of kilometers of road transport.

Thanks to its exceptionally strong and rigid structure, Crossline can operate at speeds up to 15 km/h, significantly increasing capacity. Its heavy-duty build and high cultivation intensity reduce the number of passes required, saving time, fuel, and preserving soil moisture.

Carefully selected components and raw materials, guarantee efficient work. Crossline will serve generation after generation, delivering long-term reliability and cost savings.

Stability and Penetration in All Conditions

Field conditions vary, but Crossline remains stable and penetrates crop residues effectively in all situations. It performs equally well on light or heavy soils, whether cultivated or plowed, ensuring excellent results on clay or sandy fields. Crossline adapts to different field sizes and surface variations, maintaining performance on both flat and uneven terrain due to flexible side sections that can follow the contours of the field.

Its nine tine axles and 4.1-meter-long frame guarantee outstanding penetration despite the dense tine spacing. The long frame and high number of axles allow for generous tine distribution with no compromises. The robust wheel system, strong frame, and efficient S-tines ensure reliable operation across all soil types. On heavy soils, depth is maintained, while on lighter soils, leveling remains excellent with minimal sinking thanks to the supportive wheel design.

Models from 6 to 10 meters feature a three-section frame, while the two largest models (1250 and 1500) have five sections. Dividing the harrow into smaller sections ensures excellent adaptability to field contours across its full width. Each section has its own wheel system for superior ground-following capability. Optional front support wheels further enhance stability without compromising residue clearance. These wheels pivot to follow the harrow’s direction, ensuring smooth operation even during turns on the headland.

Crossline is the choice for large farms seeking top-quality seedbed preparation.

Farmer Experience – Aapo Isotalo from Oripää, Finland

“We farm about 700 hectares of feed grain and sugar beet on varying soil types, which brings its own challenges. To solve these, we chose a Crossline 1250 harrow. The 13m harrow creates an excellent seedbed in just one pass. After cultivating over 1,300 hectares with Crossline, we’ve been extremely satisfied with its efficiency and durability.”

Multiva Crossline is more than a harrow – it’s a solution that delivers efficiency and reliability in seedbed preparation
